NORMAN — The University of Oklahoma’s internal Title IX investigation into an alleged sexual assault against linebacker Frank Shannon resulted in a one-year suspension, according to a statement issued by university president David Boren on Monday afternoon.

According to Boren’s statement, though, “the University is unable to enforce its process at this time. The University has and is taking every legal step possible to move this process forward.

Boren said in the statement that federal law prohibits him from discussing the case further.
