KOCO-5 had a huge college football doubleheader Saturday with the OU-Texas A&M telecast in the afternoon edging the Kansas State-OSU evening telecast as the week's top-rated sports event. However, the OSU game went up against CBS' “Game of the Century,” LSU at Alabama, which earned a 12.8 rating on KWTV-9. Nationally, it received a preliminary 11.5 rating as the most-watched regular-season college football game on CBS in 22 years.
The final ratings for the World Series were the highest in Oklahoma City since it became a metered market in 1999 with a 12.0 average, up 46 percent from last year. The Cardinals' victories in Games 6 and 7 received ratings of 17.4 and 16.4, respectively, on KOKH-25.
