Now that the Sugar Bowl pairing between Oklahoma and Alabama is official, plenty of Sooners fans are making travel plans to attend the Jan. 2 game in New Orleans.

Here’s a quick guide for those contemplating making the trip:

TICKETS: Tickets for the game are available to Oklahoma football season-ticket holders through 5 p.m. Monday. Season-ticket holders should log-in to their online ticket account to purchase tickets.

A limited number of tickets have been designated for students in the Plaza Level at the Superdome for $120. Student season-ticket holders must order through their online student account to gain access to those seats.

If tickets are available after the priority deadline, an announcement will be made as to when tickets will go on sale to the public.

Tickets are available for $225 (Loge levels), $190 (Premium Terrace), $180 (Plaza) and $160 (Terrace).

Late Sunday night, tickets still remained through TicketMaster.com for $174.35 each.

As of late Sunday night, more than 3,000 tickets were also available on StubHub.com, with tickets starting from $199 for upper-level seats.

AIRFARE: One-stop flights from Oklahoma City to New Orleans leaving either Dec. 31 or Jan. 1 and returning Jan. 3 were available through Southwest for around $400 round trip as of Sunday night, though flights were selling out. Similar deals were available through travel sites like Travelocity, Priceline.com and Orbitz.

HOTELS: The aforementioned travel sites also have package deals for flights and hotels (and rental cars) available. Expedia.com, another travel site, had a variety of hotels available within a few miles of the Superdome. The hotels ranged from $40 per night for a one-star hotel less than four miles away to $799 per night for a four-star hotel within walking distance.

TRAVEL PACKAGES: Primesport.com, the official VIP hospitality package provider, is offering packages for the Sugar Bowl. The packages include two nights in the Hyatt Regency New Orleans, lower-level end zone ticket for the game, admission to Sugar Bowl hospitality in the stadium, a souvenir and a souvenir ticket holder and lanyard. Those packages are available for $895 per person for double occupancy.
