NORMAN — Benny Daniel is driving to Norman from Dallas to scalp tickets Saturday morning before the University of Oklahoma plays Miami.

"This is the biggest game at OU in a long time,” said Daniel, who for the past 13 years has scalped tickets for a living.

According to Daniel, plan on paying at least $125 just to get a ticket from scalpers outside the sold-out football game.

"The fans will always give you a market,” he said. "They tell us which games are big.

"And they're telling us right now that this one is big.”

And if they didn't already know that, OU students found out Thursday. Students usually can purchase discounted tickets on Thursday mornings. There were none left when the office opened Thursday.

Anyone wanting to buy tickets online, at sites such as eBay or TicketsNow, should plan on paying as high as the $600 range.

"The reason why this ticket is moving, why this ticket is so high, is because this is one of those history-in-the-making games,” said Jennifer Swanson, spokeswoman for TicketsNow. "This is a game where a fan says I have to be there.”

Nationally, OU-Miami is a bargain compared with some other games. Tickets for Notre Dame at Penn State this weekend are going for about $405 a ticket, Swanson said.
