OU women's basketball: Aaryn Ellenberg, Nicole Griffin lead Sooners past Kansas

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Aaryn Ellenberg scored a team-high 19 points, and Nicole Griffin pulled down 11 rebounds to lead Oklahoma past Kansas 81-71 on Sunday in Big 12 women's basketball at Allen Fieldhouse.

OU led by just two points at intermission. But Ellenberg scored 17 points in the second half, and Sharane Campbell added nine to help the Sooners pull away and improve to 15-9 overall and 6-5 in the conference. The Sooners shot 54.8 percent from the field in the second half, compared to just 41.9 percent in the first.

Morgan Hook finished with 15 points for the Sooners, while teammates Nicole Cornet and Griffin added 11 and 10 points, respectively. Hook also had a game-high nine assists.

Natalie Knight scored a game-best 25 points for Kansas, which fell to 11-13 and 4-8. The Jayhawks have lost 17 of the last 19 meetings against the Sooners.

OU next plays 6 p.m. Thursday against West Virginia in Norman.
