OU senior All-American point guard Danielle Robinson played only 26 minutes in Sunday's win over James Madison because of foul trouble. She picked up her fourth foul with 9:23 left.
"She probably said, 'I can't give her a layup,'" said OU coach Sherri Coale. "She sat down on the bench and I said, 'Think about it for a minute. It's two points for them or you're on the bench. Are you kidding me?' She took three seconds and said, 'You're right.' She's just so competitive... She has to stay in the game. Period."
OU HAS EXPERIENCE EDGE
The Sooners have been to 12 consecutive NCAA Tournaments under Coale, winning 24 NCAA games. Miami's win Sunday was the Hurricanes' first NCAA Tournament win in 18 years.
"That's an advantage Oklahoma. They've have kids who have been to the Final Four," said Miami coach Katie Meier. "We were in the WNIT championship last year but that doesn't match up to the Final Four.
"But right now it's two teams. What are your strengths? What are you weaknesses? It's one game. Period. I can get my team very focused."
ELLENBERG KEEPS FIRING
OU freshman guard Aaryn Ellenberg, who set the single season school record for 3-pointers Sunday, shrugged when asked how she's played relaxed all season.
