OU women’s notebook: Freshman watch

This season, coach Sherri Coale anticipates using a pair of true freshman power forwards, who both got big minutes Wednesday.

Lyndsey Cloman, out of San Antonio, Texas, had four points, two rebounds and a team-high four turnovers, while Joanna McFarland, from Derby, Kan., scored eight points and grabbed five rebounds.

"The freshmen looked like freshmen,” Coale said. "A second late on everything they did. They’ll get better, though.”

Thompson nominated for Lowe’s Award
Senior forward Amanda Thompson was one of 30 women’s basketball players nominated for the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award, which rewards players for their efforts on and off the court.

Last year, former Sooner standout Courtney Paris won the award.

Danielle Robinson had a dream stat line for a point guard. She had 11 assists, four steals and no turnovers. ... Rogers State was led offensively by Andrea Miles, who was the only Hillcat in double figures with 12 points. ... OU finishes its exhibition schedule Nov. 10 at home against Oklahoma Christian.
