/> The Sooners lost five seniors – and four starters – from its offensive line, as well as senior safeties Nic Harris and Lendy Holmes. They were already thin at linebacker and will lose four seniors from that position following next season.

In response, OU signed four offensive linemen, four linebackers and four defensive backs.

If there was an area where the Sooners didn’t fully address their needs, it might have been at wide receiver, where standouts Juaquin Iglesias and Manny Johnson will be missed.

Jaz Reynolds and Cameron Kinney were added – and Kinney could offer immediate help as a juco transfer – but getting Randle or Hawthorne would have bolstered the day.

"It would have been great to get another guy or two, but that’s always the case at any position,” Stoops said. "We still feel our numbers there are OK.

"When you consider, we’re not a team that plays four wides all the time. When you consider all the multiple formations that we get in, and the use of Jermaine Gresham out there and all the guys we like to split out, it’s not like we’re shorthanded in who we can throw to.”
