True freshmen who have seen the field for the Sooners this season:

→Jaydan Bird, linebacker: Special teams player right now, but has bright future at linebacker.

→Tyler Evans, guard: Started at right guard against Idaho State.

→Javon Harris, strong safety: Backing up Sam Proctor at strong safety.

→Demontre Hurst, cornerback: Has invigorated the kickoff coverage unit.

→Ronnell Lewis, linebacker: Possesses great size; blew up a run to notch a safety Saturday.

→Jamarkus McFarland, defensive tackle: Could work his way into the DT rotation.

→Jonathan Miller, running back: Made the most of his nine carries last weekend, rushing for 88 yards and a TD.

→Marcus Trice, free safety: Team’s nickelback, also blocked a punt Saturday.
