In his 2009 NBA Draft rankings, ESPN.com's Chad Ford ranks Oklahoma forward Blake Griffin as the top prospect.

"Griffin has the size, strength and athleticism that NBA teams covet in power players,” Ford wrote. "While he still needs to refine his game on the offensive end of the ball, teams believe he is an elite prospect. He projects as a potential No. 1 pick in the 2009 draft.”

The 6-foot-10, 245-pound Griffin averaged 14.7 points and 9.1 rebounds last season.

That is amazing that OU has had so many good teams over the last decade or two and so little NBA success. Especially the Kelvin Sampson era. He may be a cheater but he pieced together some good teams. Blake is a beast, love watching him play but he kind of gives you that Adrian Peterson feel. You kind of cringe because you fear they're going to suffer a major injury on every play. They both go hard!

Agree with Ryan. So many people love to point out that we haven't had a player drafted since Najera, it'll be nice to throw this in their faces.

I'd love to see Blake go No. 1.

but he doesnt have a true point guard, austin johnson and willie warren are both combo guards, not true points. but blake will still dominate nonetheless.

That is all fine and well....as long as he doesn't blow out his knees.

He'll average about 20 points this year with a true point guard. Although I don't think that he will be the main scorer this year. I think we will have at least 5 people everynight that can throw up double digit points. Offensive rebounds will decrease because they'll be putting the ball in the hoop more this year lol. Good luck to the Sooners.
