The redshirt freshman quarterback threw three touchdown passes and No. 13-ranked Oklahoma took out plenty of frustration on Idaho State 64-0 Saturday night before 84,749 rain-soaked fans at Owen Field.
Jones, who made his first career start as Sam Bradford continues to nurse a separated shoulder suffered during last week's loss to Brigham Young, completed 18 of 32 passes for 286 yards with only one interception.
All three of Jones' touchdown passes went to Ryan Broyles in the first half.
The first came on the opening play of OU's second drive, when Jones connected with Broyles for a 24-yard touchdown strike that put the Sooners on the board, 7-0.
Later in the first quarter, Broyles raced past the Idaho State defensive backfield and Jones found him down sideline for a 51-yard score.
But the most impressive touchdown pass and catch was the last.
Jones placed the ball perfectly in the corner of the end zone over a Bengal defender and Broyles managed to snag the pass while keeping a foot in bounds.
