Sophomore running back Mossis Madu is blossoming just in time.

Due to a second season-ending leg injury to starting running back DeMarco Murray, Madu will see significant playing time behind Chris Brown as Oklahoma’s No. 2 running back in the Jan. 8 BCS National Championship against Florida.

Madu, who saw carries sporadically throughout the regular season, is coming off a career performance in which he rushed for 114 yards and three touchdowns in OU’s Big 12 title victory over Missouri.

On the season, Madu has rushed for six touchdowns and 463 yards, averaging 4.2 yards per carry.
