STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) — University of Oklahoma freshman third baseman Sheldon Neuse has been named the Big 12 baseball co-Newcomer of the Week.

Neuse and Kansas State freshman Tanner DeVinny share the award announced Monday by the conference.

Neuse was 7-for-18 last week with nine RBIs — including driving in eight runs in Saturday's win over CSU Bakersfield in the first game of a doubleheader sweep. He also pitched one shutout inning in the game.

TCU's Derek Odell and Preston Morrison are the conference Player and Pitcher of the Week.
