OU spokesman Jared Thompson confirmed to the Tulsa World that Plumley is not enrolled.

Plumley was suspended July 18 by coach Sherri Coale four days after she was accused of shoplifting nearly $35 in cosmetics at a Norman Wal-Mart.

Coale said in a statement that the suspension was indefinite and that Plumley would not participate in team activities during the 2008-09 season.

Where'd the Blake Griffin comments go? Sad to see these two go the way of crime.

So many comments suggesting there should not be any consequences for "making a mistake". Yes everyone makes mistakes, but consequences will follow. A "mistake" is not an "accident". This was an act with intent. And as for the severity of the punishment fitting the crime, I'm sure we do not know the full story behind whether or not there was a pattern of behavior that led up to this event. That may be the reason for the severity.

Slim baby, your memory sucks through a fire hose. What I said at the time, and what is still true is that I didn't have enough information to have an informed opinion about whether Coale was wrong or right to take the action she did. My point, at the moment,is that it is a shame to see Jenna bail, unless it's to go somewhere the spotlight's not on her to try to improve her academics. I still don't know what has gone down between Plumley and Coale, and I'm still not saying Coale is wrong because I don't know that. She may very well be right. That doesn't mean that Plumley can't and shouldn't realize that she is a worthwhile human being, and whatever mistakes she has made including the theft can and should be overcome. It is in her power to do so. Even if there were more serious issues, I doubt she has done anything she can't correct, and then, get on with her life. I don't know, but I suspect that Coale would agree with that and shares my wish.

Sad she is leaving a scholarship and a free degree. But I understand that she might just need some time off and away. Sounds like she had several issues, in addition to the shoplifting. Let her make peace with herself first, do what she needs to do and maybe she can get back on the saddle.

I am sure if she were enrolled at KU or anywhere else for that matter it would be well documented and reported. As for the person bashing Coale, I am going to assume you were not actually serious.

She's enrolled at KU, T? That means sitting out the year anyway then, right? I'm surprised! Would have thought she would have opted to go out of conference where she would be eligible immediately. Well it's unfortunate because OU desperately needs outside shooting. I know she was a fan favorite. These things happen. Athletes are people like anyone else. Chalk it up to youthful indiscretion. One of those old hags really peaved me off one day at Walmart! I had a bag of fertilizer underneath my basket as it was large and wouldn't fit in the top portion with all the groceries I purchased. Now anyone could tell I wasn't trying to steal a bag of fertilizer with the hundred dollars of groceries I had bought. Besides, had I not paid for it it would have triggered the security alarm. She stopped me at the door and asked for my receipt and looked all up and down it until she found it at the bottom of the receipt. Felt like calling a manager for being treated so rudely. Jenna's not unique, I see people arrested everyday at Walmart for petty theft. Ironically most of them are women. It's the purse thing I think. Walmarts got cameras everywhere. They have to curb the theft so they can give every day low prices every day. Now if I can just figure out why any of this matters to me, since I'm an OSU fan!

In the Dok's defense Amanda, it was the Tulsa World who actually reported it. DoK just reprint the AP article. That said, I do hope Jenna will go ahead and use this time for school. Don't worry about the trouble, we/people still love you and you're a beautiful girl. Don't play to the stereotypes they have for native people. Go ENROLL! Get in good with the coach and team. I agree, that Cole was WAY too swift in her suspension order - she should have waited for the facts first and see what the NCAA thinks at least; jeez! why is it that people can't make a simple mistake. I mean, Cole - you and I are adults, but in Jenna's defense, she is still a little girl in comparison - she should have been chastized (sp?), disciplined thoroughly, and coached; not just dismissed (look what happened, going that route....) and over $35/ from WalMart of all places???? At least she was getting something to make herself prettier or feel good... Jeeze, why are some Oklahoma people so ridiculously crass in this holier than thau judgement sometimes??. ok, now Jenna P. - get your cute little but back into class, and there's next year for bball. A LOT of girls look to you, you're beautiful and talented. Stop the madness, and get to work. We're not letting you go down the road to oblivion.

There was a lot more going on than just the one shoplifting incident. I think Sherri was generous in letting Jenna stay on scholarship while she got her personal and academic issues together. Its refreshing to see a coach not be afraid to punish a star player. Good luck to Jenna wherever she goes--she was a lot of fun to watch on the court.

Plumley should have stayed at OU. It is Coale that should have left. It is players, not coaches, that make a team a winner. This player made a mistake but it didn't deserve the draconian penalty handed out by Coale. Good Luck Ms. Plumley.

Jan, if I remember right, just after she was suspended from the team you thought she shouldn't be allowed to draw her next breath. Now you are faking supporting her. At that time you stated you had never made a mistake. But, I am sure she doesn't need or want your pity. You need to just support the two amazons that Coale thinks are perfect.

I am with those who regret her past mistake, but regret more this most recent decision. I don't know Plumley, but my impression is that she's a decent kid who made a mistake. If her change is aimed at bringing up her academics, great! If it's from embarrasment, that's both regretable and unnecessary.
As far as I know, she has done nothing from which she can't recover and become a better, stronger person.
Have pride Jenna for what you have accomplished, and overcome your mistakes. We all make them.

Sad situation all around. I wish she had the maturity to stay in school. After all, the degree is more important that the athletics for a vast majority of college athletes. -- -- -- -- BTW, don't see any need for OU/OSU hate mail here. Just because she made a mistake, lets not go looking for a way to keep her down. If we are suporters of our young people we should keep encouraging them no matter how bad things may get in life. No one is perfect and we all have our faults. Keep your head up Jenna. Something positive always shines through all the bad and the best of wishes to you in all future endeavors. Hopefully, someone in her life is a mentor and helps her get back on track. While I don't condone what she did, it certainly isn't the end of the world and worth the loss of all that talent. Everyone makes mistakes, some worse than others, this one was not bad enough to ruin you life over. Own up to your mistake and get your Head UP, Jenna girl. Her name is spelled Plumley. Get it right NEWSOK. Jenna's name isn't on this year's roster, but maybe she is still going to be in school. Give her the benefit of the doubt instead of looking for dirt on people. This paper is turning into such a tabloid! If you can't spell the name right, then maybe you need to check under the correct name before submitting an article. The poor girl might want to just attend class like a normal student and be left alone. She made a bad decision, I hope everything works out for her in the future. Here is the link to verify this year's roster.
