NORMAN — He’s back.

Sam Bradford will start for Oklahoma on Saturday when the Sooners take on Baylor at Owen Field, team officials announced via Twitter, the social networking site.

Bradford hasn’t played since spraining the AC joint in his throwing shoulder in Oklahoma’s opening-game loss to BYU on Sept. 5.

Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops met with the quarterback Friday morning and determined he was ready to return to the field.

"Sam has had a great week of practice and is ready to play," Stoops said. "We're obviously excited to have him back."

Bradford spoke to the media for the first time in over a month on Tuesday, but did not sound certain of his future, despite expressing a desire to start against the Bears.

“To get a game under my belt before Texas would definitely be beneficial to me and for our offense,” he said.

Now, he’ll get that chance.

Bradford said the chances of re-injuring the shoulder were no greater than before the sprain. In his only playing time of the season, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner completed 10 of 14 passes for 96 yards and a touchdown.
