Oklahoma’s Sheldon Neuse was named to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America team by Collegiate Baseball News on Wednesday.
Neuse hit .304 with a team-high 47 RBIs and a .521 slugging percentage.
His seven triples set an OU freshman record while his 17 doubles are second most for a freshman at the school. He also had seven home runs.
The Fort Worth product was also a valuable reliever for the Sooners, going 1-0 with a 2.25 ERA and a save in 12 innings.
During the Big 12 Tournament, Neuse was 8 for 16 with seven RBIs to earn All-Tournament honors. He drove in the game-tying and winning runs in a walk-off win against Texas Tech.
Neuse is one of four Big 12 players to earn the honor this season.
TCU left-handed pitcher Tyler Alexander, Texas Tech lefty Dylan Dusek and Red Raiders outfielder Stephen Smith are the others.
