COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Oklahoma's problems at place-kicker endured a rollercoaster sequence Saturday.

In the second quarter, Jimmy Stevens missed a 30-yard field goal attempt, his third miss in six attempts.

On OU's next possession, Stevens was replaced by Matt Moreland, who misfired from 42 yards out.

Shortly after Moreland's miss, Stevens was seen on the sidelines arguing with 295-pound backup defensive tackle Cordero Moore.

At one point, Stevens grabbed Moore's facemask and shoved it before walking away.

Stevens came back in the second quarter to attempt an extra point, which he made.

Then, with 3 seconds left in the first half, Stevens nailed a 42-yard field goal, a career-long, to put OU ahead 38-14.

“That was big,” coach Bob Stoops said. “It gave him a big boost.”

As Stevens ran to the sidelines, Moore was among the first to give him a congratulatory hug.

“(Moore and I) talked about it. We were cool, everything is fine,” Stevens said. “That was just some frustration.”
