Two outdoor Good Friday services are planned for Friday in downtown Oklahoma City.

The annual stations of the cross ecumenical service is set for noon at the Jesus Wept statue across from the Oklahoma City National Memorial, 620 N Harvey.

The Rev. Thomas Jewell, a Disciples of Christ minister, will lead the stations of the cross, which is a guided devotional through the Scriptures narrating Christ’s crucifixion.

The annual event is sponsored in part by the Oklahoma Conference of Churches.

Journey Church will host “Good Friday in the Park,” a free event, from 5:45 to 7:30 p.m. at Myriad Botanical Gardens, 301 W Reno.

Face painting, food trucks and community fellowship time will begin at 5:45 p.m. Worship will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by a brief message from the Rev. Clark Mitchell, founding senior pastor of Journey Church.

Participants are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs. Organizers said limited, reserved parking is available on Reno Avenue in parking lots 320 and 322.

In case of inclement weather, “Good Friday in the Park” will take place at Journey Church, 3801 Journey Parkway in Norman.
