OKLAHOMA ARCHERS TAKE GOLD AND SILVER IN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Oklahoma Storm Junior Olympic Archery Development team captured three gold medals and seven silver medals this month in the JOAD National Target Championships at Hamilton, Ohio.

Winning gold medals were Brogan Williams, 17, of Stillwater; Allie Canady, 15, of Yukon; and Devin Oblander, 11, of Frederick.

Oblander also won three silver medals and Dylan Oblander, 9, of Frederick also captured a silver medal.

Williams also won one silver medal along with Eric Norman, 17, of Perry and Bryce Stevenson, 18, of Nichols Hills.

“This was an amazing finish for a young group of archers, some of whom were shooting at the national level for the first time,” said coach Kathleen Stevenson, a 2013 USA Archery Women's Master champion.

“Based on this tournament and their performances at the Texas Shoot-Out, Gator Cup and So-Cal Showdown, Allie Canaday and Brogan Williams are likely to be ranked high enough to become members of the USA Archery's (national) team in women's compound for their age brackets.”
