Spring turkey season opens Sunday except in the eight counties in southeastern Oklahoma, where turkey season opens April 21.
Hunters may take up to three toms during the season, but some counties have a one or two tom limit. The hunting season runs through May 6.
Free hunters education clinic for youth
The Tri-City Gun Club is holding a free hunters education clinic Saturday at its gun range near Goldsby.
The clinic will be from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. for ages 10 and older. Pre-registration is required online at www.gotebolaw.com/youth.htm.
Sporting Clay shoot for Miracle Network
The Edmond Kiwanis Club will sponsor its third annual “Aiming for Miracles” Sporting Clay shoot April 25 at Silverleaf Shotgun Sports near Guthrie.
Money raised from the event will be donated to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. The funds will support the Children's Hospital Foundation's efforts to fund pediatric research and clinical care for sick children in Oklahoma.
Entry fees are $600 for a team of four or $150 for each individual competitor. There also will be a silent auction and raffle at the event.

Overholser, Stinchcomb clean-up on Saturday
Saturday will be the annual clean-up day of Lake Overholser and the Stinchcomb Wildlife Refuge.
Volunteers should meet at the Overholser Pavilion at 8:30 a.m. Workers will be treated to lunch after the morning clean-up.

Bass nets $5,000 for Missouri angler
A Missouri angler caught a bass on Grand Lake worth $5,000.
Tom Murphy of Richland, Mo., was on the lake Tuesday pre-fishing for FLW Rayovac tournament when he caught the first tagged bass in the Grand Lake Extravaganza.
The Grand Lake Association has tagged 500 bass in the lake with cash prizes up to $250,000. Fishing for the tagged bass will continue through May. 18.

High school bass tournament on Grand Lake
A bass tournament for high school teams will be held April 12 on Grand Lake.
The Oklahoma High School Open is a two-person team event for high school students. Anglers can register online at HighSchoolFishing.org.
The tournament is sponsored by The Bass Federation and FLW and will be held in conjunction with the TBF national championship.
Bass Tournament on Lake Texoma
The Texas Team Trail will hold a bass tournament Saturday at Lake Texoma.
Anglers can register for the tournament online at www.texasteamtrail.com.
The winning anglers will walk away with a new Triton 18XS boat powered by an Evinrude 150 horsepower motor valued at $27,500.
