SLIDESHOW AT BACKWOODS STORES

The chief executive officer of Backwoods, Jennifer Mull, will be at the Norman store Monday and the Oklahoma City store on Tuesday presenting the Backwoods Adventures Slideshow.

The company will share photos from adventure travels in 2012 and preview 2013 trips. The slideshow begins at 7 p.m. each day.

Backwoods' 2013 “Ultimate Outsider” contest also is under way. The winner, which will be announced in March, receives a trip to Nepal. The 2012 winner was Steven Hance of Oklahoma City.

GAME WARDEN OF THE YEAR

Canadian County Game Warden Joey Rushing has been named the Game Warden of the Year in Oklahoma.

Rushing, who has been employed by the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation for three years, was selected by his peers.

FEE COLLECTION CHANGES AT ARBUCKLE LAKE

Boat permits for Arbuckle Lake can now only be bought at the Travertine Nature Center in the Chickasaw National Recreation Area.

In addition, all fee collection machines at boat launch ramps and campgrounds on Arbuckle Lake will now accept debit and credit cards only.
