Boat Show opens
The Oklahoma City Boat Dealer's Association Summer Clearance Boat Show opens today in the Cox Pavilion at State Fair Park.
Doors open today at 4 p.m. and close at 9 p.m. On Saturday, show hours are from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
On Sunday, the show opens at noon and ends at 5 p.m. New and used boats and personal watercraft will be on display.
Admission is $3 for adults or $5 per couple. Children 12 and under receive free admission.
•Big Bass Bonanza: The Arkansas Big Bass Bonanza, the country's largest amateur bass tournament, is Aug. 1-3.
Originally scheduled for June, the tournament had to be postponed as heavy rains made boating conditions unsafe on the Arkansas River.
The tournament will be held on the Arkansas River from Fort Smith, Ark., to Dumas, Ark.
The angler who lands the biggest bass in the tournament will win $100,000. All previous entries will be honored and anglers can still enter.

•Waterfowl Stamp Contest: The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation is accepting entries for this year's Oklahoma Waterfowl Stamp Design Contest through Aug. 15.
The gadwall is the featured species for the 2009-10 contest. and the winning art will be printed on the 2009-10 Oklahoma Waterfowl Stamp.
Artists may include a retriever in their artwork, but the gadwall must be the featured element of the painting. Previous artwork of state waterfowl stamps may be bought at the state Wildlife Department.

•Archery championship: The Southern Plains Traditional Archery Championship will be held Aug. 2-3 at the McAlester Army Ammunition Depot.
All rounds will be $15 with cubs shooting free. Shooting divisions will be men, women, youth and cub.
Recurve competition will have no arrow restrictions, while longbow and selfbow will be wood only.
