NORMAN, Okla. - Oklahoma's soccer team dropped its second consecutive game today and suffered a 1-0 loss to visiting Rice.

The outcome was eerily similar to Friday's loss at North Texas, as the Sooners surrendered the game-winning goal on the opposition's corner kick late in the contest.

The scoreless game ended when Anne Candee found the back of the net off her corner kick as the ball floated over and behind OU goalkeeper Lisa Jett on the far post. The unassisted goal propelled the Owls to claim victory in the first meeting in the series with the Sooners.

Oklahoma falls to 1-4 overall on the season and Rice improves to 3-1.

OU head coach Nicole Nelson calls it another disappointing loss. Nelson says inexperience and a lack of urgency on a corner cost the Sooners the game.
