State and local officials have declared an ozone alert for the Oklahoma City and Tulsa metro areas today.

State and local officials have declared an ozone alert for the Oklahoma City and Tulsa metro areas today.

Excess pollution could be dangerous for people with lung or heart problems.

Negative effects include chest pain, coughing, sneezing, nausea, headache and pulmonary congestion.

People should limit outdoor activity if possible.

Residents are asked to drive as little as possible and to postpone refueling their vehicles.
