HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Pennsylvania highway crews are in Connecticut to help that state dig out from the massive weekend snowstorm.

Gov. Tom Corbett said Monday that he directed the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation to mobilize crews and equipment over the weekend in response to a request for help from Connecticut.

PennDOT crews from Somerset, Tioga, Montour and Columbia counties are participating. They brought equipment including three crew cab trucks and three massive snow blowers, each of which is on its own tractor-trailer.

The crews are helping clear roads in parts of Hartford, Farmington and Meriden, Conn. They're expected to return to Pennsylvania later this week.
