New Oklahoma State safeties coach Tim Duffie was used to coaching against the spread offense in practice at his previous school, Wake Forest.
But he hadn’t coached against anything quite like the up-tempo attack at OSU. Especially when the Cowboys are going even faster under new coordinator Mike Yurcich. And especially when Duffie was thrown into work on the second day of spring practice.
Duffie admits now that he was a bit dizzy during that time while trying to adjust to such a rapid pace. But during fall camp, the plays finally started to slow down.
“My head was spinning with just the tempo this spring,” Duffie said. “But now I can see things coming, which is weird for me to say.”
