PAWHUSKA — A man and woman in northeast Oklahoma have been bound over for trial on murder charges in the death of a Bartlesville man.

After hearing testimony in a preliminary hearing Monday, Special Judge Stuart Tate said Rusty Boyd Petty and Trysta Alberta Eileen Shaffer should stand trial on charges of first-degree murder. The pair is charged in last year's death of Timothy Hauser, who disappeared after leaving an Osage County casino.

Hauser's body was found five months later about 5 miles from the casino.

According to a local newspaper, prosecutors allege that Petty and Shaffer killed Hauser after robbing him. But defense attorneys argued that charges should be dismissed because of a lack of evidence.

Arraignment for the pair is set for Sept. 20.
