LONDON (AP) — Crystal Palace has been fined by the English Premier League for trying to obtain the lineup of opponent Cardiff before their game in April.
The Premier League says its board considered a complaint by Cardiff "regarding the conduct of a Crystal Palace official" and found Palace had breached a rule that says teams "shall behave towards each other club and the league with the utmost good faith."
Cardiff lost the match in question 3-0 on Apr. 5. The Welsh club was relegated from the Premier League the following month.
The Premier League didn't disclose the size of the fine Monday but says it does not exceed 25,000 pounds ($42,000). The name of the Palace official was not revealed.
