Parental help essential in education

Regarding “Neu set to tackle major OKC district challenges” (Our Views, July 27): The absolute help from parents is essential or none of these improvements will make a dent. Both parents must be involved in order for the children to respect teachers and school authorities. Parents must work with the children at home daily to ensure they’re keeping up. They must attend teacher-parent conferences. New programs and personnel can’t make up for absentee parents.
