Pam Hibbs, child development administrator with Oklahoma City Public Schools, said the program provides parents with the tools, educational toys, books and resources to help them teach their own children — and it’s all free of charge.
"Parents must make learning fun for a child because they learn at their own pace, speed and time,” said program instructor Lisa Baldwin.
"This is a great program being offered to help teach parents new things to do with our children while helping them learn more,” said Joy Cavett of Oklahoma City.
"By our children learning at an early age and being prepared, their schooling will be a success.”
READY! for Kindergarten is available for parents with children in five age groups, up to 5 years old.
"It is never too early to start learning items to help benefit your child,” said Hibbs.
"These classes assist the parents in being their child’s first teacher.”
Mark Cavett of Oklahoma City said by attending the class he was able to affirm that he was on the right track to helping his child become successful with her education.
