Parents magazine names top 25 family-friendly, packaged foods

I’m always interested in quick and easy meals, whether I’m fixing dinner after work, preparing lunches for the kids or trying to find snacks.

It’s even better if what  I’m giving my children is healthy.

So, I was really interested in reading Parents magazine’s “25 Best Packaged Foods of 2014.”

Parents reports it selected food items with “reasonable levels” of sodium and fat with no artificial colors or flavors. Then, the magazine asked more than 75 children and adults to taste-test and pick their favorites.

Some of the items listed are already in my pantry or refrigerator, but I might be willing to try some of the other suggestions that were selected.

Here’s the list for you to glance through, too. Items are separated into categories:

Mrs. Dash – Salt-Free, All Natural Taco Seasoning Mix

Ortega – Fiesta Flats

Smucker’s – Natural Concord Grape Fruit Spread

Marzetti – Simply Dressed & Light Balsamic Vinaigrette
