RUSTON, La. (AP) — Louisiana Tech golf coach Jeff Parks is resigning at the end of the season.
Parks, who will be completing his 11th year at Tech and six as head coach, announced plans to leave Thursday, saying he wanted to pursue other professional opportunities.
Athletics Director Tommy McClelland thanked Parks for his service, noting he was leaving the program at a lever better than it's ever been. Under Parks' guidance the Bulldogs were ranked as high as 59th, the highest the program has ever reached.
The Bulldogs also flirted with NCAA postseason selection the last few years and this season could still be extended for Tech as Victor Lange is on the bubble for the NCAA Regionals as an individual.
McClelland says a national search to fill the vacancy would begin immediately.
