Party: Janie Axton was honored by her friends at a party on Valentine's Day. She is one of the Societies of Oklahoma City University's Award of Excellence honorees and will be introduced at the 25th annual dinner and awards banquet Thursday. She will receive the Kirkpatrick Petree Music and Performing Arts Society Award.
Hostesses: The party was in the home of Lori Hill, and co-hostesses were Barbara Brou and Sue Ann Hyde.
Decorations/invitation: The party invitation stated, “Please join us to celebrate ‘Everyone's Favorite Sweetheart,' and it featured glittery hearts. Helium-filled heart-shaped balloons decorated the ceiling of the home and guests were given one as a party favor. Red tulips and red geraniums were set throughout the house, and tables featured hearts and candies.
A lot of red going on: The honoree wore a red silk suit and the hostesses were also decked out in red dresses and blouses.
Baby shower: Sarah Northwood was the honoree at a baby shower and luncheon in the home of Peggy Duncan. Co-hostesses were Lucinda Huffman, Janie Law and Debbie McQueen. Sarah and her husband, Robert Harold Northwood III, are expecting a baby boy in April.
Decor: The dining table was decorated with baby toys attached to colorful ribbons streaming down from the chandelier. A quilt, with a large giraffe in the center denoting “The Northwood Lodge” (theme of the nursery), was the backdrop to the serving table. The quilt, designed and stitched by Debby McQueen, was a gift from the hostesses.
Seen: Guests included Pat Northwood, Reistle Cohenour, Betty Lou Stewart, Lynn Parrish, Sarah Zantout, Ruth Ann Regens, Gina Love, Penny Park, Joanie Holmboe, Janis Mildren, Kara Biederman, Julee Coyle, Leslie Regens, Deb Morey, Ruth Carey, Peggy Wells and Mary Riley.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GARY
Birthday: Gary Rahill celebrated his 60th birthday at a seated dinner in the home of Al Moorad. Hosts for the party were Moorad, Kathey Sandler and Gary, Patrice, Jase, Tassidy and Trae Rahill.
Dinner: Food was Lebanese food from Ritchie's Grill and decorations followed a Middle Eastern theme.
Cake: The strawberry cake was heart-shaped.
Guests: Among the guests were Ginger and Donnie Horton, Ralph Shadid, Nan and Dr. Greg Kelley, Charlotte and Jerry Hess, Barbara and Greg Cable, Tara and Bob Nouri, Karen and Todd Goolsby, Heather Lonacre, Angel and Howard Pollock and Katie LeHew.
HEARTS AND FLOWERS
Luncheon: Members of the Kiwanis Club of Oklahoma City had a Valentine's luncheon for their sweethearts at the Petroleum Club. Kiwanis Club president Kraettli Epperson, and his wife, Kay, greeted guests.
