Parties Etc.: Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010

Tradition: Lotus Club members were at the Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club for the annual Christmas Dance. Cocktails were served at 7 p.m., and dinner was at 8 p.m. Some of the members invited their adult children as special guests.

Party planners: Susan Hoffman, Lisa Pierce and Lela Sullivan.

Seen: Carolyn and Dan Stuart, Pam and Bill Shdeed, Millie and Johnson Hightower, Tom King, Linda and Ron James, Susan and Mike McPherson, Terry and Hank Bradley, Lela and Mark Sullivan, Karen and Bob Browne, Bette and Jim MacKellar, Sara and Rob Northwood, Susan Parker, Drew Neville, Holly and Clay Healey, Susan and Peter Hoffman, Barbara and Bud Beeler, Sandy and Stewart Meyers, Libby and Morton Payne, Beth and Ed Wells, Candy and Chuck Ainsworth, Bebe and Bruce MacKellar and Kathy and Russ Walker.

Soup’s on: Janie Axton and Inda Burchfiel were hostesses for their annual "Soup’s On” party during the holidays. The party was in the Axton home.

Attire: Guests were asked to wear "shopping attire.” The party was between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. the week before Christmas.

Occasion: Shirley and Mac Dunning celebrated their 80th birthdays with a dinner given by children and grandchildren Marylee, Tim, Juliann and Katylee Strange, Ann and Craig McBride, and Cullen and Courtney Greer, in the Strange home.

Menu: It was a Mexican come–and- go taco buffet dinner using the taco recipe that Mac Dunning has cooked for years.
