SHERRY AND LILLY P.
Honoring Lilly P.: Matching pink bows adorned the heads of Sherry Brandt Yeich and her new Yorkie puppy, Lilly P. (as in Pulitzer), when a cocktail and dinner party honored them both.

Hosts: Family members and friends brought gifts for Lilly P., 5 months, to the home of Chele Gatewood. Co-hostesses were Margie Meibergen, Seyan Hefner, Lindsay Palazzolo, Melissa Meibergen and Leigh Hefner Smith.

Story: Brandt Yeich, from a large family of brothers and sisters who had many children and pets, never had children and never wanted a dog. She and her husband, Steve, hosted and attended various birthday parties and wedding and baby showers for her sisters and brothers and their children.

Since Brandt Yeich, an interior designer, worked all day, every day, she said that she never got "the pet thing” anyway.

But when her mom died a couple of years ago, it left a void in her life. Her sisters decided she needed a pet.

On a recent trip to Paris with one sister, a cousin and a friend, she sat next to a woman on an airplane with a Yorkie in her bag. Brandt Yeich liked the dog, and her sister noted that she could take that kind of dog anywhere, even to work.

Another sister found a Yorkie puppy at the local groomer and arranged for Brandt Yeich to meet the dog. It was love at first sight.
