Beaux Arts Ball King Larry Nichols and his wife, Polly, celebrated during the holiday season at Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club. They invited family members, friends and members of the Beaux Arts Ball court to join them at a dinner and dance. The country club looked like a rainbow. Each room had ever-changing colored lights on cocktail tables, bars, chairs and dining tables. There were even trays filled with lighted cocktail glasses. The lights changed color when each dinner course was served. The New York City orchestra "Sound Connection" played for dancing, and the dance floor was a foot taller than usual at the country club. White Cattelya orchids were stacked in vases on the tables, with a larger version of the orchids and vases at the entryway. The Nichols greeted guests as they arrived, and Polly Nichols wore a floor-length pink dress with spaghetti straps. Larry Nichols looked kingly in black-tie attire. The hosts gave the guests the flashing, lighted stemware as party favors. Among those attending were Mary and John Nichols, Caroline and Tyler Nichols, Sally and Jeff Starling, Susan and Mike McPherson, Christy and Jim Everest, Karen and Rob Luke, Sharon and Dr. John Bozalis, Jane and David Thompson, Lela and Dr. Mark Sullivan, Martha and Ron Bradshaw, Barbara and Jay Quillian, Barbara and Bud Beeler, DeAnn and Lee Allan Smith, DeDe and Bob Benham, Gennie and Bob Johnson, Lynn and Dr. Mike Kelly, Barbara and Bill Durrett, Jenny and Dr. David Kallenberger, Kathy and Ed Martin and Ruth and Dick Lampton.
