Patriots release Marquice Cole

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — The New England Patriots released cornerback/special teams player Marquice Cole on Thursday, the third time he has been cut this season.

Cole, bothered by a calf problem, was released Sept. 27 after playing the first three games, and again Oct. 4. He appeared in 13 games for the Patriots this season and had an interception and two passes defended. He also recovered a fumble and was in on 18 tackles, eight on special teams.
