Despite cold temperatures, patrons of the opening reception for the Creativity World Biennale street party Wednesday were enthusiastic about the collection of new media on display through Jan. 8 in Oklahoma City.

“I definitely like it,” said Klair Larason, of Oklahoma City. “It's a new perspective on what other people are creating.”

Donna McAlister, also of Oklahoma City, agreed.

“It's just a thrill that it's here and that everyone is participating,” she said.

Modeled after the long-running Venice Biennale, held every two years in Italy, the exhibition focuses on the visual arts.

It includes the work of 13 artists representing each of six Districts of Creativity worldwide: Catalonia (Spain), Denmark, Flanders (Belgium), Oklahoma (U.S.), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and Scotland.

The Biennale is being held at 1 NE 3, 415 N Broadway, 25 NW 9 and 1101 N Broadway.
