Pauls Valley airport becomes TV race site

PAULS VALLEY -- The story hasn't totally come together yet for Pauls Valley residents, but they know they may be part of it.

The Pauls Valley Daily Democrat reports that a crew from the Discovery Channel was in town recently, filming scenes for an upcoming program.

The crew spent time at the Pauls Valley airport, where it used a half-mile-long taxiway to drag race several muscle cars, those big-engine beasts from past years.

Local officials say they were told the crew has been filming at airports in the Interstate 35 corridor, between Oklahoma City and Dallas.

It's possible, one local official said, that the project might involve a series of one-hour programs, in which the Pauls Valley portion would be one.
