PBR event coming to Elk City

Sixteen of the top 50 bull riders in the Professional Bull Riders world standings will compete in the second annual Justin McBride PBR Challenge Friday and Saturday nights at the Beutler Brothers Arena in Elk City.

Headlining the competition is L.J. Jenkins of Texico, N.M., fifth in the PBR's "Built Ford Tough Series” standings.

Other top bull riders competing include Mike Lee of Decatur, Texas, currently ranked seventh, and Nick Landreneau of Welsh, La., ranked 18{+t}{+h}.

In addition, 10 of the top 25 bull riders on the PBR's Copenhagen Bull Riding Challenger Tour are entered in Elk City, headlined by Clayton Williams of Carthage, Texas.

From Oklahoma, the field of cowboys include Tanner Collins of Elk City; Clay, Cole and Cade Taylor of Sayre; Cord McCoy of Tupelo; Jared Long of Ramona; Cody Whitney of Asher; Nathan Tull of Shawnee; Austin Meier of Kinta; Austin Ambrose of Fletcher; Bronson Butcher of Muskogee; and Sevi Torturo of Norman.

Performances begin at 8 p.m. Tickets can be bought at Barber-Dyson Ford in Elk City or by calling (800) 562-0450.

Ticket prices are $17 for general admission. Box seats for four people cost $150 and $200.
