MAKING A DIFFERENCE

Event: Alzheimer's Association Memory Gala — Across the Spectrum

Venue: National Cowboy & Western Heritage Association.

The evening: Cocktails, seated dinner, touch-screen raffle and a live auction.

Honored: Gene Rainbolt received the 2013 Maureen Reagan Award.

Chairmen: Lee Allan Smith was honorary chairman; Peggy and Nick Duncan and Christy and Jim Everest were event co-chairmen. Other chairmen included John Richels, Becky Switzer, Hank Bradley, Jim Webb, Alice and Don Dahlgren, Karen and Bob Browne, Dr. Murali Krishna, Bev and Roy Smith, Carol and Don Kaspereit, Darlene and Larry Parman, Sally and Dr. Bill Hood, Gale and Lee Bollinger, Christy Glenn and Kerry Myers.

Patron party: The Gaillardia home of Vicki and Bob Howard.

Need to know: Alzheimer's disease is currently the sixth leading cause of death in the U.S.

MEDICAL ATTENTION

What: Integris Gala – 15th Anniversary.

To benefit: Integris Stroke.

Venue: National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.

The evening: Cocktails, seated dinner and dancing to Satisfaction.

Gala chairmen: Sen. Tom Coburn, honorary chairman; James R. Daniel, Dr. Lawrence Davis, Dr. Charles and Jeanne Morgan, co-chairmen.

Honored: Gene and Jo Downing received the Philanthropist of the Year award.

Need to know: Every 40 seconds someone suffers a stroke.

HATS OFF

Event: Ladies In The News Luncheon Pre-Party.

Where: Preparty, Ruth Myers; Ladies In The News Luncheon and Style Show, Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club.

Presented by: Oklahoma Hospitality Club.

Theme: Reclaiming the Past Rewriting The Future.

Program: Welcome and introductions by chairman Bonny Green. Her co-chairman was Diane Strube. Supreme Court Justice Yvonne Kauger was honorary chairman. Fashions were by Ruth Meyers. The 10 honorees were Victoria Ann Bartlett, Janie Kimball Comstock, Marsha Funk, Lu Garrison, Samia Harroz, Darcie Henderson, Jonna D. Kauger Kirshner, Pat McFall, Cindi Shelby and Jeanetta D. Sims.

To benefit: Oklahoma Foundation for the Disabled and The Children's Center.
