LOOKING UP

Event: Reach For The Stars.

Venue: The Skirvin Hilton Hotel.

To benefit: Youth Services for Oklahoma County's five juvenile programs, particularly the Supporting Kids in Independent Living (SKIL) program.

The facts: Themed “40 Years of Changing Young Lives,'' the event drew 350 people and early estimates indicate more than $100,000 was raised.

Co-chairmen: Casi Peters and Amber Thompson.

Tribute: The Oklahoma County Bar Association and the Oklahoma County Bar Auxiliary were recognized.

On the program: Emily Sutton and Lance West were masters of ceremonies, and Ronnie Kaye served as DJ.

DINING UNDER THE STARS

Event: Starlight Supper.

Presented by: Downtown Oklahoma City.

To Benefit: Emerson Alternative Education High School.

Where: Downtown Bicentennial Park.

Sponsored by: The Business Improvement District.

What: A four-course meal with wine prepared by some of the city's top chefs and live music by singer/songwriter Jamie Bramble.

FOR THE YOUNGER SET

Event: Broadway and Brew.

Presented by: Lyric Understudies Young Patrons Organization.

Where: Myriad Botanical Gardens.

To benefit: Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma to support its annual programming and the Thelma Gaylord Academy.

What: Geared toward the 40-and-under demographic, the event featured local breweries and restaurants' tastings. The C-Plus/Born in November band provided entertainment as well as performers from some of Lyric's upcoming shows.

ON THE SWEET SIDE

Event: Second Annual Sugar and Spurs.

Hosts: Oklahoma Employees Credit Union on behalf of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

To benefit: Children's Hospital Foundation.

Where: Harn Homestead.

What: Sweet treats from local shops, bakeries and restaurants. A visit from the Express Personnel Services Clydesdales, live music silent auction and wine pull.

Who: Mark Kelly is CEO of Oklahoma Employees Credit Union.

THE POWER OF BOOKS

Event: Literary Voices.

Hosted by: Sponsor Chickasaw Nation and the Library Endowment Trust.

Where: Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club.
