Event: Black & White Ball.

Presented by: Oklahoma City Ballet.

Where: Devon Tower Rotunda.

What: A black-tie event with black and white decor, the evening was staged against a stunning background of the city and beyond in the beautiful Devon Tower Rotunda. Guests were treated to an auction, dinner and dancing to Squadlive and special performances by the Oklahoma City Ballet.

Chairmen: Former Gov. Brad Henry and his wife, Kim, were honorary co-chairmen. Event chairman was LeAnn Harmon, and sponsor co-chairmen were Jeffrey and Dana Hirsch. Some of the gala committee volunteers were Marny Dunlap, Lori Hodges, Sandra Kirk, Lisa Kloberdanz, Elaine Levy, Andrea Mason, Leslie Russell, Sormeh Slater, Jai Windsor and Rachel Adamson.

BLOOMING FOR A CAUSE

Event: Oklahoma City Beautiful 30th Annual Distinguished Service Awards Luncheon.

Where: Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club.

Underwriter: Chesapeake Energy.

What: Close to 400 guests sat at tables centered with centerpieces of either red geraniums or pots of herbs in keeping with the celebration of the beautification of our city by individuals, businesses and schools.

Awards: Some of the award recipients were Janie Comstock who was given the Morrison Graham Tucker Award; Mary Blankenship Pointer, Rookie of the Year; Steve Mason, Lifetime Achievement Award; Karen Miles, Volunteer Spirit Award; Frankfurt Short Bruza, Community Spirit Award; Remington Park/Global Gaming, LLC, Chesapeake Energy Corporate Award; Lakehurst Neighborhood Asscociation “Facelift At Fifty'' Project, which received the Mayor's Award for Distinguished Service.
