Event: Dancing For A Miracle.
Venue: The Embassy Suites, Norman.
To benefit: Children’s Hospital Foundation.
What: Professional dancers were paired with local notables to compete for votes and dollars. Competing were Dr. Ron Sutor, Cynthia Quick Black, Ben Odom, Lisa Wasemiller-Smith, Kym Koch Thompson, Jennifer Robinson, Darla Miller, Randy Kamp, Jason Hart and Bruce Smith. Professional dancers were Darren Fernandez, Mac Guzman, David Hyer, Hays Hopkins, Keri Johnson, Hazel Lopez, Kate Linkous, Kristina Sanchez and Elizabeth Willis. Guests also enjoyed a reception, silent and live auctions dinner and a program.
Chairmen: Karla Martens was chairman, and Diane and Cliff Stockton were honorary chairmen. Committee members were Ashley Armstrong, Rachel Calderon, Shelly Douglas, Bob Edwards, Ronny and Vickie Munsey, Marlena O’Connor, Kenneth Reinbold, Brittni Shull, Taylor Trest-Burget and Al Warren.

Event: 16th Blow Out Golf Tournament.
Presented by: Desk and Derrick Club.
Where: Silver Horne Golf Club.
To benefit: Funds from the tourney go to scholarships. The club is an oil and gas nonprofit educational program. The group meets once a month at the Petroleum Club where different speakers participate in the programs. President is Wendy Sparks.

Where: Meinders Hall of Mirrors.
What: More than 100 guests attended a private reception and celebration of the Oklahoma City University Meinders School of Business’ accreditation by Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business international. The AACSB is a voluntary, nongovernmental accrediting agency that oversees the standardization of collegiate schools of business and accounting nationwide. Less than 5 percent of the world’s 13,000 business programs have earned AACSB Accreditation.
