Venue: National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.
Honorees receiving recognition for improving the quality of life for people in Oklahoma: Retired Col. Stanley L. Evans, now assistant dean for students at the University of Oklahoma College of Law, Councilperson Meg Salyer and Oklahoma Foundation for the Disabled.
Honorary chairman: Gov. Bill Anoatubby of the Chickasaw Nation.
The evening: The decor of the evening was Hollywood glamor. Chairs, dressed and tied in colorful satin, sat around tables draped in elegant cloths. Each was centered with tall vases of mixed flowers. Guests enjoyed a dinner served by Cheever’s Catering, live and silent auctions, entertainment and live music.
A BLOOMING GOOD TIME
Event: Casino Florale.
Venue: TEEMCO Gold Dome.
To benefit: Oklahoma City Beautiful.
The evening: Hors d’oeuvres, drinks, gaming and prizes.
Notable: It was a zero landfill evening (trash will be recycled).
Event: Footprints Into Fairways.
Where: Gaillardia Country Club.
To raise funds for: YMCA program with South Central PGA. Hosted by Gaillardia Country Club, the event showcased golf for children as well as trick shot artist Kevin “Divot the Clown” and golf magician Kevin Dawson “The Jolly Jester.”
IF YOU CAN CATCH ’EM
Event: Quail Creek Tennis Fish Fry.
Where: Outside tennis courts, Quail Creek Golf & Country Club.
What: Members of the Men and Women’s Tennis Association enjoyed an outdoor fish fry. Pro David Bryant, an avid fisherman, fried fish he had caught. Members provided tasty side dishes to go along with his catch. The group also took time out for a few friendly tennis matches. (Sure they were, friendly that is!)
