Event: Dancing for a Miracle.

Host: Children's Network Hospitals.

To benefit: Children's Hospital Foundation.

Where: National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.

The evening: A cocktail reception, seated dinner, entertainment by Miss Oklahoma 2013 Kelsey Griswold, silent auction and dancing competition featuring 10 couples. Local community entrants paired with professional dancers and put their best feet forward to raise funds to provide quality medical care.

Masters of ceremony: Paul Folger and Joleen Chaney.

Chairmen: Karla Martens was chairman and honorary chairmen were Cliff and Diane Stockton.

FILM STAR

What: Film Event.

Where: Gaillardia Country Club.

About: Actor and producer Danny Glover hosted a private benefit at the Gaillardia Country Club to promote the domestic release of his film “I Want to Be a Soldier.” Acclaimed internationally, the film will be released in the U.S. this fall to a limited number of theaters. The film examines the effects on children's minds from the violence found in modern entertainment. A portion of the evening's proceeds benefited victims of the recent Oklahoma tornados.
