Event: 68th Annual Bachelors Club Christmas Ball on Dec. 22.
Venue: Pre-Party at Alice and Phil Pippin's home, Christmas Ball later in the evening at Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club.
Award recipient: Rick Dunning received the William M. Powel Outstanding Bachelor Alumni Award.
The evening: Thirty-two young women made their debut at this black-tie ball. Notified of their selection on Thanksgiving Day by members of the Bachelors Club, the debs began their evening with a limousine ride to the pre-party at the beautifully decorated Pippin home in Nichols Hills. From there they were transported, with bachelor escorts, to the ball. Debutantes, escorted by members of the club, were presented in a formal ceremony. After the presentation, guests danced to the music of Souled Out before the evening was concluded with a late breakfast. Elegant, ethereal floral decorations included purple and white roses, white hydrangea and white peonies. Silver curly willow, lighted hanging glass orbs and crystals were some of the details added to the floral designs.

The evening: Western attire set the mood for this holiday slice of yesteryear. Both adults and children wore their most authentic duds for the ball, which was inspired by the original holiday ball in Anson City, Texas, in 1885. Guests were transported away from the commercial world to enjoy a festive night in the company of family and friends — young and old. Western-style food, entertainment by Murphey and dancing made for a special evening.
