ATHLETIC HELP

Event: Cleats and Cocktails.

Where: Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club.

To benefit: Wes Welker Foundation.

Mission: To influence at risk youth by encouraging their full potential through athletic and positive role models.

The evening: More than 450 guests attended. Live and silent auctions helped net close to $375,000.

Co-chairmen: Laura Hood and Erika Braver.

WORLDWIDE INTERESTS

Event: Wine, Women and Shoes.

Where: Civic Center, Meinders Hall of Mirrors.

To benefit: To support women in isolated villages throughout the world.

The program: Wine and food tastings, viewing the latest styles in shoes and accessories, a style show, live auction and raffles.

Chairman: Ashlea Briggs chaired the event with help from 25 committee members.

HELP NEEDED

Event: Bids for Kids.

Hosted by: Citizens Caring for Children (CCC).

Where: Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club.

The program: Country music recording artist, former foster child and community activist, Jimmy Wayne, was the guest speaker and performer. Cocktails, a seated dinner, wine pull and dancing to the Superfreak band rounded out the evening.

To benefit: Meeting the unique needs of more than 4,000 children and young adults living in foster care in Central Oklahoma each year.

Hats off: Corporate Role Model of the Year: OG&E; CCC Volunteer of the Year: Donna Brogan.
