By Peggy Gandy Published: November 18, 2012

Event: Saints Ball 2012 — “Breakfast At Tiffany's”.

Presented by: St. Anthony Foundation.

Presenting sponsor: Devon.

Venue: National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.

The evening: Glitz and elegance set the decor for this Breakfast At Tiffany's-themed evening. Kudos to Eventures who created a fantasy of sparkling gold on the stage, shimmering table cloths in varying designs and sequins and tall vases of mixed white flowers. A silent auction gave the 450 guests a chance to bid before opening remarks and a seated dinner. Following a live auction, Dave & the Wavetones entertained while guests made their way to the dance floor.

The gala was chaired by Janet and Dr. Jim Kirk and Debbie and Dr. Scott Lucas. Committee members lending a hand were Jennifer Blair, Melinda Cox, Kelly and Gary Gordon, Mary Grieme, Kim and David Rainbolt, Lisa Vaughn and Ashton Whaley.

Event: 56th Annual Kappa Alpha Theta Flaming Festival.

Where: Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club.

What: In keeping with tradition, a variety of beautifully decorated tabletops created by KAT alumnae and area merchants were on display. A tea table covered in delectable bite size cookies was a popular spot for munching. A pantry area offered desserts baked by members, which were literally “flying off the shelves.” A special treat was a luncheon featuring Louise Bayless Parsley, award-winning author and columnist. Her book “Revelations in the Rearview Mirror: One Mother's Hard-Won and Hilarious Epiphanies on the Road to the Empty Nest” gave the first clue to her witty, fun and savvy luncheon speech.
