EXTENDING A HAND
Event: Pros for Africa Fundraiser.
Co-hosts: Gov. Mary Fallin and Serge Ibaka, Oklahoma City Thunder.
Venue: Philips Pavilion at Governor's Mansion.
To benefit: The evening, which guests paid $500 to attend, included a live auction with proceeds going to support the work of Sister Rosemary Nyirumbe, including the building of schools and orphanages in Uganda, and South Sudan as well as other projects to assist African children.
Event: Symphony Show House preview for the Oklahoma City Orchestra League.
Where: The Abbey in Fairview Farm.
What: A silent auction and food tasting stations by local restaurants.

What: Installation ceremony for the 2013 board of directors and an awards ceremony. Robert Henry, former judge for the U.S. Court of Appeals and current president of Oklahoma City University, was given the Native Son award. Renowned vocalist Leona Mitchell performed.
